Tuesday’s New Moon in Aquarius marks the beginning of Chinese New Year, heralding in the Year of the Yang Water Tiger. I’m interested in this because previous Tiger Years have been 1974, 2010 amongst others. These are BIG flood years for the Murray Darling Basin and unseasonally high rainfall years. This New Moon comes on the back of Venus turning Direct after a long retrograde period. Reclusiveness, simplicity, re-evaluating life, revisiting old friendships, love stories and general relationship issues was a thing all through January. I don’t know how many people I spoke too, said that their Christmas and New Year was quiet and that January has been a time of laying low, decluttering, reviewing life in general.
The New Moon and New Year energy brings the Venus forward too and we all tend to get out or are forced out with school and work starting back. There’s a fresh new start vibe in town. Is there though ?
Venus isn’t happy for the next four months as she transits through Capricorn and is conjunct Pluto, Mars and Mercury (also retrograding until the 4th). I sense a lot of deep purging on all levels. With Venus and Mars conjuncting, I sense some arguments, fights maybe but all the passion of a Venus Mars combo. Pick your battles, draw the line and look long term with this energy.
